I’m a retired 65 years old and I live in western Paris. Born in Alsace, I have always lived in this beautiful region of eastern France. Passionate about travel, culture and literature. Find me on Linkedin.

Bonjour les amis,

As I’ve explained in several articles, Alsace is my native region and I always love to come back.

Alsace is known the world over for its wines and gastronomy : Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir

I’ve compiled a list of the best Wineries in Alsace in this post, especially near Strasbourg.

I’ve based this ranking on official datas from the CIVA (Alsace Wine Professional Council), an association of 371 professional winegrowers.

If you want to know my personal selection near Colmar, you can read this post: My 25 Best Winery Near Colmar.

PS : please tell me in comments what is your favorite(s) wine(s) from Alsace ! 🙂

My 19 Best Wineries In Alsace (2023) : Methodology And Dataset

My ranking of best wineries in Alsace is based on results of the 52nd Annual Colmar Alsace Wine Competition.

This competition was held on May 11, 2023. Organized annually by the Alsace Wine Professional Council, in partnership with the Alsace Winemakers Association, this event honors the finest AOC Alsace and Crémant d’Alsace wines.

Medals, either Gold or Silver, are awarded to standout wines from independent vintners, cooperative wineries, and producer-traders in the Alsace region.

And of course, I visited each of them to give you my opinion of their wines and welcome.

Below is my personal selection of the Best wineries in Alsace (France) among all those awarded a gold medal in 2023:
