1. Pont Alexandre III – Paris

My personal opinion:

Pont Alexandre III is a work of art! Every detail dazzles, especially during sunset. Its majestic view of the Eiffel Tower is unforgettable. This is a must-see in Paris!

2. Pont Neuf – Paris

• Description & History: The oldest stone bridge and the third-longest bridge in Paris, crossing the Seine River.

My personal opinion:

To be Pont Neuf stole my heart! It’s the perfect spot for a sunset stroll. Bring snacks, enjoy the city lights, or capture memorable photos. Can’t miss it when in Paris!

3. Pont des Arts – Paris

Pont des Arts is a charm! Yes, the love locks are gone, but the views remain. Perfect for a stroll or a good book. Feels like true civilization to me!

5. Pont d’Aquitaine – Bordeaux

• Type of bridge: Suspension bridge
• Length & Height: 1,776 meters length
• Country: France

• Description & History: A suspension bridge located in Bordeaux, with a total length of 1,776 meters and a width of 30.9 meters. It was the first stone bridge in Bordeaux city and was constructed in 1967.

My personal opinion:

The Pont d’Aquitaine feels majestic, guys! Cycling across it gives unique vibes, city views are breathtaking. Just beware of the traffic, but it’s worth it!

• Type of bridge: Vertical-lift bridge

• Description & History: A modern vertical-lift bridge or a movable bridge ascending vertically that opened in 2013. It is considered the longest lift bridge ever built in Europe.

My personal opinion:

This is a remarkable bridge of significant scale and an engineering marvel. It offers wonderful views of the surrounding area, including the nearby wine museum. Do note that the bridge lifts significantly to allow ships to pass underneath, which can lead to lengthy waits for both pedestrians and drivers. There is also the potential to ascend to the top of the bridge, though this may require special permits. Nice spot for sunset !

Best visited in the early evening for a serene experience, or early morning to secure a good parking spot. Be aware that it can get crowded in the summer. Nearby attractions and amenities like restaurants and picnic areas add to the overall experience.

My personal opinion:

• Description & History: Viaduc de Millau is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the gorge valley of the Tarn near Millau in southern France. The Millau Viaduct is part of the A75-A71 autoroute axis from Paris to Béziers and Montpellier.

My personal opinion:

This bridge is an engineering marvel, but tolls can be a surprise! Remember to exit right after crossing to avoid them. Immerse yourself in nature’s splendor coupled with man’s genius. Just beware of the unexpected tolls and occasional road work. Your camera is a must for this strikingly beautiful and engineeringly outstanding bridge, it’s well worth the drive!
